The Trustees

Meet the people who manage the Ashwellthorpe & Fundenhall Community Centre CIO and Thorpe Hall on behalf of the parish:

David Jefferies (Chair)

Hi, I am David, the chair of the trustees. I have been the project manager for the acceptance team for Thorpe Hall since its inception as a CIO.

In run my own company advising businesses in matters of compliance and financial crime prevention. I am currently working for HM Government in Westminster, providing advice on financial crime prevention. In my spare time I volunteer on the North Norfolk Railway. I have lived in Norfolk since 2003, moving into the village of Ashwellthorpe in 2018.

Nick de Spon (Deputy Chair)

I moved to Ashwellthorpe in 2012 with my wife Debbie and our daughters after retiring from a full-time job in Shipping Operations in London. Having been in shipping for 43 years the countryside seemed a logical choice. My interests are cricket, reading and gardening. I am a member of the Parish Council, with a responsibility for planning, and part of the group dealing with the new Village Hall and its future development. I am also Vice Chair of the board of trustees.

Ian Bishop (Secretary)

Hi, I am Ian Bishop and came to Ashwellthorpe in 2008, where I live with my wife Yvonne.

I joined the Parish Council 6 years ago, with a particular interest in the problem of speeding in the village. Having coordinated the Speed Watch team for 2 years, the team have made a big difference to some drivers who use the village. Interests include golf and supporting my wife with gardening duties.

I am the Chairman to the local Playgroup in Ashwellthorpe, ‘Bramble Bears’ where my daughter attends. I love spending time with my family and when I’m not doing that, I’m probably attending to my lawn or skiing. Also am Treasurer in my role for the board of trustees.

Hello, my name is Linda and I live in Fundenhall and can often be seen walking my dog along the road and footpaths towards Ashwellthorpe. I took voluntary redundancy from the hospitality sector to begin retirement. I helped set up and run the Line Dance Club in 1997 and began teaching 3 years ago. So, come along and join us, you’re most welcome, and there’s no such thing as two left feet!
